Manawatu Herald SATURDAY, SEPTEM. 28, 1918. BOLSHEVIST CANDIDATE.

UNDER the above heading, dealing editorially with the'Wellington Central election, the Evening Post: speaks out straightly as follows: According to Mr P. Eraser, who was “Director of Labour Propaganda’’ in the . Grey by-election, the result of that contest was a great victory for Labour principles; and as he is now the party’s candidate for Wellington Central, neither he nor they will desire to deny that a victory there will represent a triumph of the same kind. The electors of Wellington Central will therefore do well to note the four points which the director of Labour propaganda in the Grey electorate declared to have been asserted by the return of Mr Holland. They were: (1) The socialisation of the means of production, distribution, and exchange; (2) a “four-square” opposition to the Military Service AcU ; (3) the promotion of peace by negotiation;

(4) llio prim-ylcs of “international Labour as represented by Russian Socialism." Every one of these points deserves the careful attention of the Wellington Central electors, but especially the last, which colours with a deeper red the creed of a party that has always had a taste for that colour.
