HOUSEHOLD HINTS.
A table spoonful of butter makes butter pats of good size.
Cigar or good cigarette ash makes an excellent polish for silverware. To save carpets have an interlining of paper between the floor and the carpet. Enamelware which has become discoloured can be scoured with vinegar.
To remove putty from windows use a little kerosene and soap mixed.
Eiderdown bed covers can he restored to freshness by hanging 111 the sun a few hours. Clean the gas burners on a gas stove by boiling in water and potash for an hour; keep the burners covered with the water. When a room reeks of tobacco Muokc set a bowl of cold water some where in the room, and the odour will soon be absorbed. Kerosene oil is excellent for cleaning the rubber rollers of a wringer. After it lias been applied the rollers should be rinsed off with warm water.
