PATRIOTIC SHOP.
The Patriotic Shop on Saturday last was under the charge of Mrs John Robinson and Mrs Harvey, who had a very successful day, which realised £2l. Competitions resulted as follows: —Luncheon, Mr H. Smith, No, 83; cake, Mr it. A. Ingle, No. 19; tea, Miss A. Collins, No. 42; nightdress, Mrs Mandi, No. 86; wf>rkbox, Mrs D. Purcell, No. 27; barley sugar, Miss Kobbell, No. 13. The sheep weighed 43!bs„ which weight was guessed by Messrs Rand, Gardes, Purcell, Fraser and Harrison. Gifts are acknowledged from Mesdames Newth, A. S. Easton, Wall (Parematn), Hood, Wyeth, Crawley, Davis, Healey, A. Ross, T. Brewer, Kellow, Coleman, Robson, Furrie, F. Robinson, Raine, Green, Harvey, John Robinson, Woodroofe, Renton, AAA Barber, Witchell, Jas. Robinson, Rouse, C. Symons, C. Robinson, Misses Davis, J. Diidson, Joan Preston, Kathleen Green, Edna Harper, AVoodroofe, Grant, Speirs, Messrs J. Kruse, O. Robinson, Chung AV’all, Davis, Perreau, John Robinson, Beck, Ken Robinson, a Friend, E. Parkin, and Jas. Robinson. On Saturday next Mesdames Alex. Ross and Cronquest will have charge of the shop, and the proceeds will he devoted to the Italian Red Cross Fund, for which fund efforts are being held all over New Zealand this week. Among the various competitions there will be one for the best sponge sandwich, entrance (id each sponge, which will be the property of the shop, and the winner will receive a prize.
