TOWN CLERK'S REPORT.
The Acting-Town Clerk reported as follows at Monday night’s Council meeting: — • , The road staff has been engaged on the following works since the last meeting of the Council, viz., cleaning drains, grading footpath in Union Street, and general maintenance work. The grader was working two days on Norbiton Road, Ladies’ Mile, Duncan, Cook, Putter, Hall, Thymic, and Coley Streets. The Belmont metal is coming to hand at a more satisfactory rate at present, and the borough horse and dray has been used in shifting same from trucks, since the late carting contract lapsed. The road foreman (Mr Huntley) recommends that Spring, Hillary and Baker Streets be graded. —The report was adopted.
