Reminds one of being at the front again while the barrage is on, but, of course, it is nothing near as bad as it is at the front. Wo had a ‘dud’ shell through the house I am staying at, went elean through from roof to cellar, passing through the centre of the dining-room table en route. It would have been rather alarming if we had happened to be at supper, but luckily we were all out at the time, but things were in a beautiful mess. A little while ago a live shell burst just opposite the bouse, in the middle of the road, but luckily did no damage beyond breaking the window over the door. We must be in the line of fire of one particular gun. Rather awkward when they give dud shells! Remember me to all Fox ton frF ends,”
