ARREST OF A RESERVIST.

I’:!h ia t ua, .July SO. Two Welliiig-'..-.n constables? very early this morning proceeded to a farm at Pukehinau, in the Pongoroa- district, and arrested a sturdilybuilt First Division reservist. The man was ordered to parade for medical examination on 4th April, 1918, but failed to respond to repeated notices. He declares that he would have to be fetched. On production of the warrant he elected to go quietly. The party came into Pahiatua by mail coach after a rough trip. The man’s family record is said to he a good one, one brother being at the front and one in camp, and another brother died in camp. The arrestee is stated to have objections to military service of any kind.
