PATRIOTIC SHOP.

SUCCESSFUL- COPPER TRAIL EFFORT. The Patriotic Shop on Saturday was in charge of Mrs Mandl and Misses Signal and Woodroofe. The net takings were in aid of the Red Cross Copper Trail Fund. The gross takings were £7l 1 Os, and the net amount to be handed to the land will be £69 —this added lo the ,(.‘IOO donated by the Foxton Racing Club, will speed the Trail along considerably. Saturday’s takings include £9 raised by Dr. Mandl and Mr Freeman, £2 10s raised by Mr C. Simmons, £8 Us sale of cakes donated by Mrs and Miss Woodroofe, and Slate School children £1 2s. Competitions were won by the following:—Pictures, Air C. Prow and Mr J. M. Williams; box of tea, Mr C. Simmons; boudoir cap, Mrs E. Preston; Sheep (Ji)Mbs.), Master J. Kelso, Airs A. Morgan, and C. Anderson; guessing combined weight of two ladies (17st. (fibs.), Mrs Keilow, A. L. Symons, G. Scadden, F. D. Whibley: hot water bottle, Air Janie.-' (Dannevirke) ; tea set, Miss Elsie Barber; turkey, Mrs C. Robinson; £1 note, Roy Robinson. Gifts are acknowledged from the followingMr C.
