TEACHER APPEALED FOR.

Christchurch, July 10,

Before the Military Service Board to-day the Ricearton School Committee appealed for R. H. North, only male assistant at the school. Counsel pointed opt that the Board of Education declined to appeal, and the committee Avas forced to ask for an extension of time till the end of the year. The chairman (ALII. W, Bishop) said counsel asked them to approve of the principle of the committee going over the head

of the Education Board, Avhich was constituted to authorise these matters, and wlio.se representations wore bound to have weight. Counsel held that a competent Military Service Board could find that the Board of Education had not properly considered the matter. Eventually an extension till October was allowed.
