Mr P. Petrie has presented a shield for competition, over the last four cup matches. The object in presenting the shield is to keep up the interest in the games to the end, in the event of one team winning the cup in the early stages of the competition. The shield will be open for competition each year so long as football is kept up. In the event of the game falling through, the team then holding the shield will continue in possession of it.
Last Saturday’s match was the first for the Petrie Shield, so Crusaders are one game in the lead.
The gate money on Saturday netted £2 5s 0d for the Injured Players’ Fund.
