Manawatu Herald. THURSDAY, JULY 11. 1918. SCHOOL COMMITTEES ASSOCIATION.
A MOVEMENT is afoot to form a School Committees Association, and delegates will meet at Palmerston at an early date to discuss the subject. Some years ago an association was formed, with headquarters at Wanganui, but committees in the southern end of the district found it inconvenient to travel such a distance in order to attend meetings. The proposed association will be restricted to committees within a given area. The object is a good one, and should result in committees being aroused to a. sense of their responsibilities, and to formulate a policy of improved administration. The health and school environment of our children is of paramount importance, and the combined action of committees could do much to bring about necessary reforms and arouse public opinion to the pressing needs of educational reform. We wish the movement every success.
