EDUCATION BOARD NOMINATIONS.
There will be elections in three wards of the Wanganui Education district next month for representatives on the Wanganui Education Board.
Five sitting members of the Board have retired, and nominations for their seats resulted in nine nominations being received. The following were the nominations : ;
Wanganui Urban area: R. J, Sewell (sitting member), and W. Bruce (ex-member). Palmerston North Urban area: P. C. Freeth, H. J. Canton, and Mra F. Cvabb.
Southern Ward: A. Fraser (sitting member) and J. K. Homblow.
West TV ard (Patea and Waverley districts): E. F. Hemmingway has been re-elected unopposed.
North Ward (Main Trunk): J. Pilkington has been elected unopposed.
Voting papers are now being sent out, and the election takes place on July 17th.
According to the Act, the voting papers must not be opened until the 15th day after the election. This means that the result will not be known until August Ist.
