FOXTON HARBOUR BOARD.

SPECIAL MEETING,

A special meeting of the Foxton Harbour Board Avas held on Tuesday evening. Present : Messrs P. Hennessy (chairman), J. A. Nash, T. J. Clapham, J, Robertson, W. E. Barber, and J. Linklater. The Secretary reported the amount to credit at the Bunk of New Zealand avus £478 Is Khl. less mi - presented cheque £lB l()s, leaving net £459 11s Kid. Expenses in connection with taking the poll, £B2 11s, have been paid, and printing and advertising accounts to hand total £122 3s 4d. Tiiere are two others to come in, Avhich will make Hie total cost about £230. Four tenders for fireAvood Avere reeei\ r ed, and one at £35 accepted. Correspondenec avus read from Mr Weston, the Board’s solicitor showing the progress being made toAvards completion of negotiations, etc., re Avharf control, A letter avus read from the secretary of the Harbours Association, advising that the annual conference will be held on July 31st. —The Chairman and Mr Nash Avere appointed to represent the Board at the conference.

A motion was passed thanking the press throughout the district} for their assistance in connection Avith the poll.
