MAN AND BOY KILLED.

Christchurch, June 10

Peter Clarkin, aged fifty-three, a. labourer, was run over by a motor car at Halswell on Saturday night, and died before reaching the hospital. Deceased and another man were walking along the road, when deceased suddenly rushed across the road in front.of the motor car. and wits knocked down. At the inquest a verdict of accidental death was returned.

A boy named William James McLeod, aged fifteen, was killed at the Kaiapoi Woollen Mills on Saturday afternoon, being struck on the temple by a steel rod which was being drawn from a warp frame.
