CORRESPONDENCE.

(To the Editor.)

Sir. — I read the letter of “Resident” which you inserted in your paper on Saturday, and also your comment re same. As I am in the habit of taking a walk as far as tho post office almost every evening, and there meeting with one or the other of those whom “Resident’ between 7 and 8 p.m., gets nasty while waiting for the mail to bo sorted, his complaint set me thinking. Now, sir, the most of us who assemble at the post office while away a few minutes in \yholcsmuo conversation, but we do not obstruct any one who desires to enter the post office. There is no club here where we might foregather for an hour or so in the evening, and the six o’clock closing keeps us out of the public houses, and now “Mr Pip,” or “Resident,” objects to our having a chat in front of a public institution. It looks as if “Resident” having failed to transact business after hours at the post office fering from “nerves,” but I can with us. “Resident” must be sufon the by-election, both sides are assure him that we are all perfectly harmless and loyal citizens of the Empire, I would suggest that “Resident” consult a medical man before again airing his views in the public press ,as hallucinations are the forerunner of a more serious mental trouble. Thanking you in anticipation.—l am, etc., RAGS.
