MALINI’S ENTERTAINMENT.
Malini, one of the world’s famous magicians, gave a one night performance in the Town Hall on Tuesday. There was only a moderate attendance, due probably to the high prices of admission, viz., 4s, 3s, and 2s. An entertainer has a perfect right to stipulate- his admission charges, and there is only one Malini, but the public is served up with counter attractions at a much less cost, and they jib at anything out of the ordinary. Anyhow, those who did attend were quite satisfied that they got their money’s worth, and those who stayed away missed an opportunity of seeing one of the cleverest performances in magic extant. His tricks were astonishingly clever and mystifying, performed without any of the usual accompanying paraphernalia. Miss Ettie Field, a charming soprano, contributed several vocal items, which were much appreciated.
