THE RECENT SESSION.
The session of Parliament just concluded was about third in record for brevity of duration, says the Post. It lusted lor seven days, six of Avhicb were sitting days." The hours of sitting in the House of Representatives before midnight were 39 hours and 23 minutes, and after) midnight 2 hours and 29 minutes, a total of 41 hours 52 minutes, giving an average sitting of 6 hours 58 miutes —quite a respectable record when compared with the sessions in the late Mr Seddon’s time and generally before the formation of the National Government. During the .session., 93 questions were asked of Ministers (to say nothing of questions without .notice). Petitions presented numbered 31, 27 from Europeans ;and 4 from Maoris. £hese, exempt in the case of one referred .direct to the Government, will be dealt with next session, Thirtyeight papers, almost all of .a formal character, were laid on the table of - .the House.
