BOROUGH TREASURER’S STATEMENT.
The borough treasurer's statement was read as follows at Monday night’s Council meeting: — I have the honour to report as follows: —The sum of £4BO 4s 3d. was received during the month of March, and placed to credit asunder: District fund account £4BO Os 9d, cemetery account £5 17s Od. The balances of the various funds at the Bank of New Zealand as at the 31st March, 1918, were as follow: — District fund account, as per Bank pass book, debit £704 11s Bd, plus unpresented cheques £7O Is Id (£834 12s 9d), less deposit of April 3rd, £l9 10s sd, £Bl5 2s 4d; cemetery account credit £l4 2s sd; and the ledger balances at the same date were as follow: —Library £l4 3s Id, reserves £56 11s Od, cemetery £l4 2s sd, sanitation £42 0s 3d, hospital and charitable aid £3l 18s 3d, Whirokino bridge interest £2O 6s Od, roads and streets £l9 4s 9d, Shannon bridge £lO 17s lOd, council chamber £ll 10s lid, Whirokino bridge additions loan £24 14s 7d, roads and streets No. 2 £ls 2s lOd, Beach road £2l Kjs 7d, all in credit, a total of £282 9s sd. The 7 * accounts at debit are: General account £496 17s lOd, gasworks £586 11s 6d. ■
