PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
The quarterly district meeting of the Foxton Presbyterian Church was held at Glen Oroua on Tuesday. Present: Rev. J. H. Bredin (moderator),* and Messrs Affix. Speirs, W. Renton, Thos. Henderson and Jas. Ross (Foxton), Farmer 'and Amon (Glen Oroua), Wilton and Gimlett (Rangiotu). The quarterly balance-sheet was presented, which disclosed a satisfactory state of affairs. It was reported that Mr Alex. Speirs had carried out certain work at the manse without cost to the committee, and for which he received a vote of thanks and appreciation. It was reported that the motor bicycle had been sold, and that donations had been promised and received to within £35 of the purchase price of a new two-seater car. It was further stated that the car had been ordered by the subcommittee, and that the final payment would not be a charge on the committee’s finances. Messrs Claris and Gimlett were appointed to represent the managers at the Presbyterian visitation at Foxton on Monday next, and Messrs Spcira and Wilton will represent the session, The Presbytery visitation will consist of the Rev. f. Miller (Feilding), and the Rev. 6, W. Blair (Wanganui East), and an elder from Marton. The ministers will address the congregation at 7.30 p.m. The delegates were subsequently entertained at luncheon by Messrs Amon and Farmer.
