SUBSCRIPTIONS ACKNOWLEDGED. The Mayor lias received (lie following letter from Mr Griffin, secretary of the Baetihi Relief Committee : “Your cheque for £6B Is 6d for the Raetihi Relief Fund came to hand, for which I am enclosing receipt. My Committee desires that you will convey their deep appreciation for this -monetary assistance to all those who contributed to the raising of this splendid sum. Wo note that you have deducted £1 paid to Mr Pratt for travelling to Raetihi. Again thanking you, and assuring you that the money will be used to the very best advantage,’’
