CORRESPONDENCE.
A letter signed “Hadsum,” in replay to “X-Ray,” will appear in our next issue. (To the Editor.) Sir.—Would you kindly permit me, through the columns of your paper, to contradict the rumour I heard in Foxton during my Easter leave, to the effect that Pte. Victor Betty had not sailed with his reinforcement. This; sir, I would like to state, is absolutely without any foundation whatever, for on my return to camp I made extensive inquiries, and find that Pte. Betty is very much eu route for the seat of w.ar. I ask you to publish this in fairness to both Pte. Betty and his parents, and would like to state that the person responsible for the rumour in at present serving; a period of 90 days’ detention in Bucklestreet Barracks for desertion. Thanking you in anticipation of allowing me space, I .am, Vic’s churn, J. WOODS, A/37, Trentbani.
