The monthly sitting of the Magistrate's Court will be held before Mr W. G. K. Kenrick, S.M., to-morrow. Among the eases set down for hearing are three charges of alleged breaches of the Licensing Act, and one case of alleged theft.
The following soldiers, invalided from the front, returned to their homes in Foxton on Tuesday afternoon: —Lance-Corpl. L, Bullard, and Privates H. Hughes, M. Smith, W. Derrick, C. Nelson, and C.. Green.
Mr and Mrs J. Eoseieft Foxton yesterday to take up their residence in Pahiatua. Some time ago Mr Kose disposed of his flaxmill to Mr W. Petrie, and subsequently purchased a dairy farm at Mangatainoka. Mr and Mrs Kose carry away with them the best wishes of their Foxton friends.
There were good attendances at the Salvation Army harvest festival services - held on Sunday and Monday, On Tuesday”* evening a vocal and instrumental programme was submitted, and the gifts auctioned. The interior of the hall was very tastefully decorated, and the platform loaded with fruits of (he harvest. Adjutant Baylis conducted the special services. Mr Ilornblow auctioned the gifts on Tuesday night, and as they were not all disposed of, the balance will be sold this evening.
