TENNIS CLUB.
The adjourned meeting of those interested in the resuscitation of the local tennis club was held in the Council Chambers last night. Mr Kellow presided over a good attendance. He informed those present that the committee had been successful in obtaining guarantors for a bank overdraft of £l5O, which would enable the Club to wipe off the mortgage and interest due to the Druids, and liquidate outstanding liabilities.
It was resolved that the Foxlon Tennis Club he re-constituted under the bank guarantee. The rules, with slight amendments, were adopted. The annual fee was fixed at 25s for men and 12s fid for ladies, reducible to one guinea and 10s fid if paid before October 31st; the fee for the remaining portion of this season was iixed at 10s and ss. The following officers were elected: —Patron, the Mayor (Mr John Chrystall); president, Mr Alf. Fraser; vice-presidents, Dr. Mandl, Messrs 0. Robinson, F, Robinson, F. S. Fasten, Alex. Ross, W. E. Barber, J. K. Horn blow and A. J. Kellow; secretary, Mr Richmond; treasurer, Mr E. Jackson; committee: Misses Ray, Bryant, 31, AVanklyn, Riramer, L. Edwards, Messrs .McMurray, .Simmons, CTonquest, Kellow, McEwen. Trustees, the bank guarantors; match committee, secretary, treasurer, and Mr McMurray; auditor, Mr F. D. AVhibley. - ' / It was decided to admit honorary members at 5s without privileges. Students attending any High School whose parents reside in Foxton are to be admitted to membership on payment of a fee of 5s per annum. It was decided to'open the courts on Saturday afternoon next, at 2.30 o’clock. # After other routine business was discussed, the meeting Closed with a vote of thanks to the chairman. *
