PATRIOTIC SHOP.
Mrs Chas. Robinson, assisted by Miss Ina Robinson and Miss Nixon, had charge of the Patriotic Shop on Saturday last, and report good business. The competition for a sheep donated by Mr Chas. Robinson was won by Mr P. Lumsden, who guessed the correct weight, 491 lbs. Mr W. E. Barber won a tahleeentre presented by Mrs Admore, with No. 33, while Mrs Arthur Green was successful in winning both the cake and the surprise box respectively. Gifts are acknowledged from:Mcsdames Thymic, Gibbs, Woodroofe, A. S. Easton, Chas. Robinson, H. Thynne, Jas. Robinson, Patterson, Alex. Ross, A. Green, John Robinson, F, Procter, Percy Easton, Healey, Bakov, F. Robinson, Honricksen, C. Symons, A. L. Harper, Miss Woodroofe, Symons, Stella Barbei’, Speirs, Messrs Bullard, Fee, O. Robinson, and P. Robinson. On Saturday next Mrs John Robinson and Mrs Harvey will haVe charge of the shop, and the first consignment of Nelson apples ivill be on sale. The meeting of the Executive Committee of the Patriotic Society, postponed from Thursday last, will be held at the Council Chamber on Thursday evening, 14th March, at 8 o’clock.
