ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Hawera, Yesterday. Another motor accident occurred last evening on the Manaia road, when a young man named Bunn, of Kapuni, who was riding a motor-cycle, collided with a motorcar. The bicycle was smashed to bits, and the motor car’badly damaged. Bunn suffered a badly fractured leg, and was removed to the Hawera Hospital. John Pawson, who was severely injured on Sunday in the motor car accident on the Manaia road, which caused the death of Stewart Monteith, a bank clerk, died to-day. ’ Christchurch,, Feb. 19. A four-year-old child, Majorie Helen Buxton, residing at Shirley, died as the result of scalds. The mother of the child was washing in an outhouse, and in her absence the little girl poked the fire, upsetting a kettle of boiling water, and scalding herself. Christchurch, Feb. 19. Arthur Walden Allan, aged fifteen, was drowned in the Woolston baths this evening.
