ALL SAINTS’ CHURCH.
The following pastoral letter has been addressed to members of All Saints’ Anglican Church by the Vicar: — “My dear people.—Ash Wednesday—the first day of Lent —falls on the 13th inst. Lent is a call for an effort to renew our spiritual life, to examine ourselves to see whether we repent truly of our former sins, to purpose to lead a new life, to see whether we have a lively faith in God’s mercy, and that we are in love and charity with all men. Many times lately we have been called to prayer by the leaders of our Empire; often they have told us that our greatest source of help in those dark days is the help that cometh from God, and I can imagine no more appropriate time for seeking that help and for deepening our spiritual life than the season of which we are thinking. So I plead with all who read these words to make the effort and to a I tend church regularly. “Beginning with Ash Wednesday, when the services will be 11 a.m. Holy Communion, 7.30 p.m. Evensong, there will lie a celebration of the Holy Communion at 11 a.m, and a short service at. 7 .30 p.m, on every Wednesday. At these services, and also on Sundays, special addresses will be given. “The subjects on the Wednesdays will be, “The Call of God, Trust, Prayer, Work, Bible study; Confirmation; Holy Communion. “On Sunday mornings: The Holiness, (he Wisdom, the Power, the Patience, the Energy, the Sacrifice of God. On Sunday evenings wo shall think of the ‘Pact of Christ.’ “Please do your utmost to attend these services.”
