SOUTHERN MAORI SEAT.
THREE CANDIDATES. Chris t e Lurch, Yes terda y. Nominations for the Southern Maori scat closed to-day. They are: — Teone Mat a pun a Erihaua. Henare Parata. John Hopere Wharewiti Urn. The statement was made by Sir James Carroll that Mr Parata is the Government candidate. Ilori Tatuki Topi, who had been nominated, withdrew in his favour. Sir James Carroll stays in the South Island until after the election.
