FOXTON TENNIS CLUB.
The meeting convened by the trustees of the above dub for the purpose of resuscitating it, held in the"'‘6ouneil Chamber last evening, was very poorly attended. Those present were: Messrs FrasexyHornblow and Alex. Ross (trustees), Misses Neyloix (2), Messrs E. Jackson, McMurray and Cronquest. Mr Honiblow was voted to the chair, and briefly outlined the position of affairs to the meeting. The property was vested in the trustees, who were jointly and severally re,sponsible for-interest on mortgage. There was a mortgage on the properly of £IOO held by the local Druids’ Lodge, bearing interest at 0 per cent, per annum. No interest had been paid for the past two years, and rates had also accumulated, No meeting of the club had been held for two years, and other debts had accumulated. The trustees had decided to close the property until such time as the club was reformed. A lengthy discussion ensued, and finally Messrs McMurray, Jackson and Cronquest decided to make a personal canvass of all tennis players, and endeavour to re-establish the club.
