SHIPMENT VIA AUSTRALIA SUGGESTED.

“Those concerned in the hemp trade will be interested to know,” stated the Prime Minister (the Right Hon. W. E. Massey) to a Wellington Times representative yesterday, “that I have received the following cablegram from the High Commissioner in London: ‘With reference to your telegram, 18th January, hemp for France, War Trade Department understands that there are French ships running from Australia to France, and suggest that hemp should be shipped to Australia in local steamers for re-shipment by that route. They state, in view of inward tonnage situation, it is considered most undesirable for such hemp to be brought to the United Kingdom for re-shipment,’ ”
