DISTRICT APPEALS.

The following appeals from this district were dealt Avith at the sitting of the First Wellington Military Service Appeal Board, Avhich ('(included its sittings at Palmerston N. on Saturday: — DAIRY FARMER’S APPEAL.

George Ralph Nisbolt, dairy farmer, Foxlon, slated that bis circumstances were practically the same as on bis previous appearance in June last. He bad reduced his liabilities somcAvhat. He avus noAv milking 58 coavs. —The Board reserved its decision sine die.

ADJOURNED TILL NEXT BITTING.

..Waller Waters, toAvn clerk of Foxlon, slated that his appeal avus based on financial reasons.

The Mayor, of Foxlon (Mr J, Ohryslall) gave evidence that Waters was also road overseer. It was the unanimous Avish of the Council that appellant be granted three months from Marcli 121 h, to enable him to got out the Borough balancesheet, Avhich had to be brought doAvn and audited.

The ease Avas adjourned until the next sitting of the Board. A CYCLE EXPERT.

Norman Leslie Barratt, motor mechanic, Foxton, appealed on the ground of public interest and for domestic reasons. He was a married man Avithont children, and supported his widowed mother, who live\l with her lavo daughters. He Avas employed as manager of a motor cycle shop, and was the only expert in Foxton in his own particular line. He had to do all (he repair work.

G. Kelly, proprietor of the business in question, stated that he also had similar businesses at Shannon and Levin. He looked after the business himself and was a mojor cycle expert. He had endeavoured to replace Barratt by enquiring through the trade, but had not advertised for anyone.

To Captain Walker: If Barratt went to camp he would have to close the Levin branch. There was one other employee at the Levin shop, but he could not be left to take charge of the Foxton.branch.

The chairman said the Board considered appellant should be in camp, and dismissed the appeal, leave being granted till March 12th,
