FOXTON RACES.
TUESDAY NEXT,
The Foxton Racing Club’s annual meeting, to be held on Tuesday, promises to be most successful. The rain experienced during the past week has had a very beneficial effect on the track, which is now in tip-top condition. This year there will be no special trains, except, of course, the Sanson tram, but the experience of other clubs is that the cutting off of the special trains has not interfered much with the attendance of the public, as motor vehicles are utilised to a very great extent, and with fine weather there will no doubt be as large a crowd on the Foxton course on Tuesday as was there last year,. All the races have filled up well; and the racing will be good, Mr Henrys having concealed the winners fairly well. From present indications, practically all the acceptors will go to the post, so that there will be second dividends in almost every event.
The officials have made all arrangements for the convenience of the public, and there will be no room for complaint on this head.
The catering arrangements are in
the hands of Messrs Langley Bros., which is a guarantee of satisfaction.
Unlike most clubs, the Foxton Club has not made any increase in the admission charges on account of the amusement tax( except that complementary ticket holders will be asked to pay one shilling at the outside gates), and this will be appreciated By those who attend. The first race, the Hurdles, will Start at 12 noon.
