April 10th —Canadians capture the Vimy Heights. April 16th —French offensive on the Aisne and in Champagne. April 20th —Destroyers Broke and Swift defeat six German destroyers. \ April 22nd —Fifty-five British ships sunk in week. May 3rd —Australians attack Hindenburg line. May 12th —Italian offensive on the Carso. May 15th —General Retain succeeds General Nivelle in French command. May 17th —Bulleeourt in British possession.
