STATE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The adjourned meeting of the above was held last night. Present: —Messrs Hdrriblow (chairman), Rev. J. IT. Bredin, Betty, Hussey, Parker, Perreau, Read, Woods and McMurray (secretary). The head teacher's report was read and received. The annual examination report and drawing inspector’s report were road and received. The month- j ly visitors’ report directed attention to certain repairs. Tt was decided to ask the Board to replace a the present tin bowls and zinc sinks with wash bowls. A lengthy discussion took place on the correspondence between the Committee and Board in respect to subsidies, and it. was resolved to submit the matter to the chairman of the Board during ■ his visit to the school to-day. The ■ Chairman’s . action in authorising ;, > the head teacher to purchase'prizes and arrangements in connection with the prize-giving was endorsed. Messrs Woods and Parker were appointed visitors for the month, and after discussing other routine business the meeting rose.
