MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
The monthly sitting of the Magistrate’s Court was held before Mr W. G. K. Kenrick, S.M., yesterday. CIVIL BUSINESS. The only civil case that came up for decision was a judgment summons, Walker and Furrie v. Alf. Chamberlain. There w r as no appearance of judgment debtor, and no excuse for absence, and an order was mqdc for the payment of the amount due, £3 12s 3d, forthwith, in deault seven days imprisonment in Wellington prison. ILLEGALLY ON LICENSED PREMISES. George Caddy, who pleaded not guilty, w’as charged with ..being found illegally on licensed premises on a Sunday morning. Constable O’Donoghue stated that defendant was in the yard of the Mapqwatu Hotel premises at about 9,30 a.m, on the Sunday ill question. The Magistrate inflicted a fine of 10s, with costs 7s, RIDING MOTOR WITHOUT LIGHTS. Jack Pratt, who did not appear, was charged with riding a motor bike at night w’ithout lights, and was fined 20s, with costs 7s. FAILING TO KEEP WAGES BOOK.
Robert Bryant pleaded guilty to failing to keep a time and w-ages book, and was fined £5, with costs 7s, and witness’ expenses 7s.
