SEASIDE IMPROVEMENTS.
The Seaside Improvement Society lias carried out excellent work at the local resort during the past months. With a view to beautifying the seaside' a good deal of tree planting has been done, seats have been donated for the use and convenience of the pijldic, and dress? jpg sheds for bathers hpve been q?r ected. The (Ifessing slier) on the rivep front for ladies is a well-fin-ished piece of work, Separate pop]= parfments h,*ty« hoop provided, fitted “frith mirrors and pegs. On the sen front "two shpl|ers have been erected, one for men and the other for women. These conveniences will not only add to the a 1 tractions of our seaside resort, hut will lie keenly appreciated by visitors. The money for materials for the improvements has been contributed voluntarily, and Iho work of erection has been undertaken without cost by Mr Dawick, to whom special praise is due. An attempt is to he made to put down a concrete entrance from the road through the’cutting giving entrance to the river front. The cutting is very difficult for ears to negotiate by reason of the sand drift. This work’.will cost about "*>£2o for material. The labour will be%ratis.
