GRAND PATRIOTIC CONCERT.

MONDAY NIGHT. Indications point to a crowded house at the Town Hall on Monday night, when an entertainment will be given in aid of the funds of the Foxton Ladies’ Patriotic Guild by “The Irresistible*,” a concert party from Palmerston North, which has earned great praise in a number of concerts they have given in the Palmerston district. The party includes such well-known performers as Misses K. Free.th, Watson, O. Belt, Nielsen, Keeling, Kirk, Messrs Bowater and Jackson, Rergt.-Major Barcham, Sergt.-Major Chapman, and Pie. J. D. Aitken, besides a fairly large chorus. The Awapuni camp band will also take part. The full programme appears in our advertising columns to-day, and the prices of admission arc 2s and Is. Seats may be reserved at Mrs Tevioldalc’s for sixpence extra. Arrangements have been made for members of the Ladies’ Guild to attend to the sale of tickets, and also act as ushers. The stage will be decorated to represent a garden, and the decorations will be quite up to the high standard of previous entertainments by this company, which ha& been so favourably commented upon. At the conclusion of the concert the performers will be entertained at supper by the ladies. Guild members are asked to bring plates of cakes, sandwiches, or sausage rolls. In order to further supplement the takings’ of the concert, bouquets and buttonholes will be of - fered for sale, and in this connection all who wish to help are requested to leave flowers at the Town Hall on Monday afternoon. Tickets are finding a ready sale, and everything promises a most successful effort.
