CORRESPONDENCE.
(To the Editor). Sir. —Trusting you will allow me space to say a few words in regard to the appointment of a nightsoil contructor and poundkeeper recently made at,the council meeting. I may say I had heard considerable dissatisfaction expressed by several ratepayers, myself among the number, at the way the appointment was made, and as the matter seems to be of considerable moment to the applicants concerned, I would suggest that the appointment be held over for a full meeting of the Council, as I understand Crs. Geo. Coley, R. Bryant and R. McMurray were absent from the meeting, and so could not have voted on the appointment. Apologising for trespassing on your valuable space, —I am, etc,., A.T. SAYILLB, Francis Street, Foxton, 13/11/17,
