SOCIAL.
A very enjoyable social was held in the Presbyterian schoolroom on Thursday night. There was a good attendance, and the audience thoroughly appreciated the concert programme, practically every performer being encored. The Rev., J. H. Bredin presided. Included among the performers were several new to a Foxton audience, viz., Mrs Cronquest, whose elocutionary items gave evidence of talent in histrionic art, Miss Dons, a vocalist of merit, and Mr Cronquest, whose versatility as a vocalist was amply demonstrated. Other contributors to the programme were: Misses Evans (who played a pianoforte solo with marked ability), Bryant, Signal, Mesdames Teviotdale and Freeman, and Messrs Claris, Bullard and Hornblow. The accompaniments were played by Mesdames Moore, Cronquest, Miss Signal and Mr H. B. Collins. The Chairman thanked dm performers for the excellent programme submitted. The National Anthem concluded the concert; programme, after which supper was served, presided over by Mesdames MeMurray and Parkes.
