DEATH OF VINCENT CARROLL.
WHILE EVADING MILITARY SERVICE. Reefton, Nov. 3. Three men, Vincent Carroll, Thomas Kicly and Patrick Skinner, evading military service, took to the bush in April, and camped twelve miles from Ikamatua railway station. Carroll was struck on the head by .a falling limb on Friday, and died on Saturday. His mates brought the body to the road on Saturday, and to Reefton today. At the inquest to-day a verdict of accidental death was returned. Kiely and Skinner were arrested under the Military Service Act.
