MR. HERDMAN TO BE MADE A JUDGE.

Now that the Parliamentary session is over certain arrangements which have long been in contemplation by the Cabinet are to be carried out (says yesterday’s New Zealand Times). It has been understood for a considerable time that Mr A. L. Herdman is to relinquish the AttorneyGem /al’s portfolio for a seat on the Supreme Court Bench in succession to Mr Justice Denniston, and it was stated in political circles on Thursday that this change will certainly come about within the present month.
