DARING ROBBERY.

SAFE BLOWN OPEN. Auckland, Nov. 2. A safe in the railway goods shed at Auckland w’as broken open hj explosives during the night. Between £2OO and £3OO in cash was removed. The night watchman heard an explosion in the raihvay goods shed and raised the alarm. When he returned with several others the burglars decamped. The safe was a large one, embedded in reinforced concrete, and contained money for paying the employees to-day. Gelignite had been worked into the keyhole, and fired with-a detonator and fuse. An entrance w’as effected to the shed by forcing the back door.
