OTHER LOST PROVISIONS.
As already stated, the Bill has now been dropped, but it is interesting to recall that some of its other provisions were of much general interest. It was provided that heavy fines should be imposed on employers who employ 'reservists who are not enrolled; that officers on the retired list should be deemed to be officers of the Defence Forces (this has to do with the constitution of some courts-martial); validating sentences of courts-martial; that members of the Expeditionary Force shall, in time of peace, he subject to military law until discharged; that persons convicted of desertion from Expeditionary Forces or of disobedience to military orders are to be deprived of civil rights; and “the allowance of appeal in eases where three or more brothers of appellants are serving pr have served with forces.” * - '
