Corporal R, H, Dalhousie, Avellknowp in the Manawatu, Avho received honourable mention in the Somme push, has been promoted to the rank of sergeant. Pte. James Boavc (a mounted man —Auckland) has been paying a visit to his parents Mr and Mrs Thomas Boavc, at Marotiri. Pte. BoAve returned to camp this morning.
The “Our Day” effort of the Moxxtoa Ladies’ Guild, Avhich took the form of a euchre party, Ara s very successful. Despite the xxnfavourable night, a fair crowd assembled, and spent a very enjoyable evening. The Avinners Avere: Gents’, Mr C. Petersen; ladies, Mrs R. J. Mohekey. Consolation prizes: Mrs C, A. Spring and Mr Galland. The competitions Avere; —Doll (name, Myrtle), not guessed; cushion, donated by Mrs J. Woods (contents of box), not guessed —a shell; cake, donated by Mrs J. Walls, Foxton, Avon by Mr P. Morgan, Avith the number 1. A dainty supper was provided by the ladies. The total takings Avill amount to nearly £l2.
