ALLEGED DESERTION.
A District Court-martial sat at Palmerston North on Tuesday to determine a charge of alleged desertion against a reservist, Francis Joseph Carroll, who was called up in February and ..failed to respond, and was arrested at Kaitaia, North Auckland, two weeks ago. Carroll pleaded not guilty, and the prosecutor (Capt. Baldwin) applied for, and was granted, an adjournment to call witnesses.
