PATRIOTIC SHOP.

Saturday last at the Patriotic'*' Shop was devoted to the “Our Day” Rod Cross effort, the Foxton Ladies’ Patriotic Guild and the Foxton Girls’ Guild making a joint appeal, the shop being in charge of the Girls’ Guild, with Miss Moxham in command. The effort resulted in £4O being raised, but in view of the fact that £SO was raised last year, and that the Palmerston North Show effort, which last year realised £7O, was dropped in favour of the “Our Day” appeal, this result cannot be considered very satisfactory.
