On Saturday local meetings of directors of cheese factories will be held to consider the offer of the Imperial Government to purchase the New Zealand surplus of cheese at di per pound f.o.b. It is understood that negotiations are proceeding for the purchase of the exportable surplus of butter at 157 s pei’, ewt. The previous offer was 1555, which was not accepted, the idea of values being 159 s per ewt. -It is stated that the offers now made for both butter and cheese are definite and final.
