DEATH OF A CRIMEAN VETERAN.
Mr Patrick Ashe, a Crimean vet - eran, died at Palmerston yesterday. He enlisted at Athlone, Ireland, in. 1852, in the 55th Foo't Regiment, which was stationed at Gibraltar for some time. The regiment then mov-' ed to the Crimea and wont) through Alma, Inkerman, and the siege of Sebastopol. Deceased, who was 83 years of age, came to New Zealand in 1876, and resided for the greater part of that'time in the Feilding district.
