COASTAL SHIPPING HOLD-UP.

A meeting of members of the Seamen’s Union, Wellington branch, was held in the Trades Hall, at Wellington, yesterday. There were about fifty men present, but it was reported that a number of these were not affected by the coastal” shipping dispute, the majority of the men cencerned in this matter having shipped on other steamers or found work elsewhere. The present position of the dispute was discussed, and the meeting reaffirmed its decision ’ agreeing to discuss the questions in dispute at a > roundtable conference with the shipowners presided over by the ’Minister for Marine (Hon. Q. W. Russell).
