EMDEN CAPTAIN.

ESCAPE AND RECAPTURE. London, Sept. 2(5. Nine German officers, who escaped from an internment camp, were recaptured- These include Captain Muller, of the Emden, and the aviator Otto Thelan, who is a famous tunnoller, and whose previous four escapes have earned him the nickname of “The Hun Monte Cristo.” . The escape of the prisoner’s was discovered by a labourer, who noticed a hole in a turnip field, close to the huts. They all escaped at 4.30 in the morning. They had ample provisions, clothing, tobacco, and maps, drawn by themselves. Six of the prisoners were captured at breakfast-time. One was carrying a huge portmanteau, Thelan and a companion were asleep in a wheatfield. Two others were playing cards in a ditch. Children who were blackheiTying met Captain Muller in a wood, and gave the alarm. Muller was recaptured at mid-day. Three others were captured while walking along a road. They said that they were munitioners from London, seeking work. Policemen on bicycles are scouring the roads, looking for the others. Maps found on the prisoners who were captured showed that the bad roads to tbe East Coast were marked in tbe most, accurate manner.
