The official opening' of the Palmerston North green took place yesterday afternoon, when visiting rinks were present, from Feilding, Foxtou and Shannon. The following is the result of the game played by the Foxton rink: — Palmerston.,. Foxton. The following are die results of ladder games played recently:— 11. Coley 14 beat P. G. Jackson 10, F. D. Whibley 1!) beat Hawke 10, M. 11. Walker 19 beat Crawley 10, Lnmsden 19 beat ■ Healey 13, Mandl 13 boat Stewart 9, and Crawley 18 beat E. Walker 11. At the opening of St. John's (Wanganui) bowling season on Saturday afternoon, a pleasing preliminary (says ,tlio Herald) was the presentation by the president's daughter (Mbs Sewell) to every player of a pretty orange blossom button-hole.
