There have been discovered' no less limn seven imitators a I work patting up inferior .substitutes. If they had put up a cough mixture essence bearing their own name I would have had no quarrel with them, but in every instance they adopted a fictitious name of one syllable only so that it might easily be confused with my name. Against some of these I have obtained New Supreme Court injunctions restraining them from further infringement of my rights. Others have discontinued imitating Hearns Essence without having to go to court. “The trade-marking of the word ‘Heenzo/ and its appearance on the cartons and bottles of all my preparations in future, will safeguard buyers against piracy. It is worthy of mention just here that several of the imitations of Hcan’s Essence were such in name only. Upon analysis they were found to be largely composed of paregoric and laudanum, extracts of the deadly habitforming opium drug, the inclusion of which in cough mixtures for family use cannot be too strongly discouraged. ■'T hope the public will fully realise the importance of availing themselves of (he protection which the trade-mark ‘lleouzo’ will uiVord them.
